Your Secret Guide to Instagram
1.Being Consistent with Posting
Data shows that accounts that post between two and ten times per day get the best results with their Instagram marketing efforts. The exact number of posts that you make should depend upon how much you have to say and your audience. If you stay consistent with posting 2-10 times a day for a span of a few months, you will see your engagement grow. Watch your post likes go from 2-3 to 20 and up into the hundreds as long as your consistent. Invest in an app that allows you to plan your posts. This will allow you to plan days in advance, have your posts automatically post for you, create a hashtag group that will automatically comment on all your posts, and to visually see your feed the way your followers will see. I personally love seeing the analysis of my account over the span of a few months as well; you can set goals for yourself with ease. The app I use personally is Planoly which is $0-$23 dollars a month depending on the plan you choose. Planoly is assessable from your phone or laptop which is great for on the go!
2. Post When Followers are Most Active.
The amazing thing about having a professional account on Instagram is being able to monitor your engagement. Your professional dashboard allows you to track your content interactions, how many accounts you’ve reached and how many posts you have posted in your chosen time span. In the “Audience” tab, you can see where your followers are from, how many followers you got on a particular day and the best part, when they are active on Instagram. Plan your posts for when you can see they are most active to get the most engagement. It also helps to both post on your feed and to your story around the same time to bump your account up in the algorithm.
This is the best time to post on Instagram according to the internet:
Best times:
Monday through Friday – 11 a.m.
Tuesday – 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Best day: Tuesday
Worst day: Sunday
My Personal Follower Times:
Consistent the whole week but more engagement on Wednesdays & Thursdays.
My most active times being 9a.m. to 11a.m. and 6p.m. to 8p.m.!
Planoly has a feature where it automatically figures out when your followers are most active and suggests those times when you go and schedule your posts!
3. Create a Relationship with Your Followers
Everyone wants to feel loved and appreciated, including your followers. Being engaged and creating a relationship with your followers is another way to bump your way up the algorithm. Perhaps one of the biggest mistakes that businesses make on Instagram is that they do all the talking. Replying to questions and tags from your followers is not only good customer service, but also a positive signal for your engagement rate. Because how you go back-and-forth with actual people matters more than an arbitrary follower count. You could have thousands of followers but only a few likes/comments which doesn’t help your business look legit. Make your followers feel appreciated by liking and commenting back on their posts. Giving away freebies once you hit milestones in your follower count also can increase your engagement with the entries alone, but also lets your followers know they are appreciated!
4. BE PATIENT!
Water beating on a rock everyday will soon penetrate, same with your content. When your consistent with dropping free content to your followers, information you would normally charge for, and appearing on their feed every time they scroll up and down by posting 3-5 times a day, imagine the results in 6-12 months of CONSISTENCY? The issue is people aren’t sticking around that long and being disciplined with their posts to see results. The only person you’re in a race with is yourself!
